Holidays are here and that means fun, fun, fun.
Since a lot of activities and events are taking place, the much awaited new machines for teenagers and adults at Longcheng Plaza (Amusement Park) have arrived and are being launched today.
The new state of the art machines which include the Tagada Disco, Space Shuttle, Bumper Cars and Pirate Ships have already been installed and will be fully operational today.
August being the time for the Harare Agricultural Show, teenagers will be spoilt for choice with the Plaza giving a new feel of Disneyland. CLS will be there at the launch which will also see a lot of surprise acts and games.
In an interview with CLS, some teenagers who regularly go to the Plaza Amusement Park said it was great that instead of just being about the kids, the park is now catering for the whole family. Tatenda Kanoyangwa aged 16 from Westgate said the rides were being overused and some looked childish but happy that there is the new equipment catering for girls.
“I am happy with the acquisition of new rides and especially us girls are now catered for. The current rides at the amusement park had become a thing of the past as one would repeat the same rides every time and again. They were being over-used and became boring with some eventually wearing out,” she said.
She said the new machines will go a long way in developing the mindset of the teenagers when it comes to entertainment.
“We always see such machines on international videos or being talked about on news that something is happening at Disneyland, Kylie has done this at Amusement Parks etc. Now it’s us shining at the park and I am very excited about it. They are very colourful and some of them are educational. I think they will pen the mindset of most teenagers when it comes to entertainment. Most teens think doing drugs or other immoral things is fun but there are a lot of ways to enjoy in life,” she said.
