MASHONALAND East Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Advocate Itayi Ndudzo has implored Government officials in the province to work towards the attainment of Vision 2030, guided by the National Development Strategy 2(NDS2).

He made the call while addressing the officials during a strategic planning workshop held in Harare recently.

“This workshop is not merely an analysis of 2025’s performance, it is a crucial opportunity to craft a robust Strategic Plan for the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) that aligns with the NDS 2 and sets our course for 2026-2030,” he said.

“Together, we strive to accelerate the attainment of Vision 2030’s ambitious targets, a goal we wish to reach ahead of schedule through the diligent implementation of NDS 2.

“As we embark on this endeavour, it is appropriate to acknowledge the timely launch of NDS 2 by President Mnangagwa, upon which we must all build. In his address, the President urged that all public institutions are challenged to develop and nurture service delivery standards that reflect our unique local realities, while also aligning with global best practices.”

Adv Ndudzo said it was against this backdrop that Mashonaland East must evaluate its strategic direction.

“We are reminded of our urgency and responsibility to optimise the development gains of past programmes while ensuring that unfinished projects are brought to fruition,” he said.

“As we gather to formulate the OPC’s five-year Strategic Plan, we must realign our public sector objectives with the national vision, informed by the lessons garnered from NDS1. Our aim is not just to celebrate our successes but also to learn from our challenges.”

Adv Ndudzo added that NDS 2 must consolidate the province’s achievements, saying it was imperative that the plans being developed reflect stakeholder participation, value for money, and timely execution.

“I challenge all thematic chairpersons and attendees to establish service delivery standards attuned to the unique realities of Mashonaland East, while integrating best practices from around the globe.

“This gathering transcends a routine planning exercise; it is a defining moment for us all. We are called to refine our strategic direction, strengthen our institutional capacities, and reaffirm

our commitment to national development.”

He challenged the officials to work in unison and ensure there is development and progress across the province.
