Let’s join hands to fight drugs: Muduvuri

SOCIETY should take care of victims of drug and substance abuse as they are patients and not criminals, philanthropist and Pan African Referral Hospital founder Mr Jimayi Muduviri has said.

In an interview, Mr Muduvuri said Zimbabweans must take a leaf from First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa in the fight against drug and substance abuse.

“Our First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa, and her humanitarian husband, His Excellency President Mnangagwa, once arrived at my home in Kadoma, both got shocked to see my broken legs in a very bad condition. That was in 2005. Out of love, they assisted me. To repay their kindness and love, I decided to construct clinics in 10 provinces of the country, the clinics offer rehabilitation facilities to victims of drugs and substance abuse. I was inspired by the First Lady,” he said.

To advance the drug and substance abuse fight, Mr Muduvuri urged every Zimbabwean to play a part.

“We must all join hands, inspired by the First Lady, the rehabilitation centres I have built offer vocational training and sporting activities to help patients recover and get productive after being discharged”, he said.
