Let’s rally behind ED: Matemadanda

Liberty Dube Mutare Bureau
ZANU-PF secretary for War Veterans and Ex-detainees Cde Victor Matemadanda has urged war veterans to rally behind President Mnangagwa in the forthcoming elections. Speaking at a meeting held recently in Dangamvura, Cde Matemadanda said President Mnangagwa’s first 100 days in office served as a true testimony that he was determined to take the country forward.

He urged war veterans in Mutare to ignore factionalists like former resident minister Mandi Chimene.
“Zimbabwe was dead because of selfish people who were surrounding the former President Robert Mugabe. Now we have seen countries coming to make deals for investments, the amendment of the investment policy and also the participation of Zimbabwe at World Economic Forum in Davos,” he said.

He said as war veterans they were happy that Zimbabwe was back on track.
“This is a sign that the country is getting back on track and as war veterans we are happy with the developments because we fought for the country to function well under black rule, not to destroy it,” he said.

Cde Matemadanda is on a national tour mobilising war veterans and collaborators to vote peacefully for Zanu-PF and President Mnangagwa.

“Zimbabweans now have a real taste of a leader who is willing to take the country forward, as he has shown in his first 100 days in office.

“So my message on this tour is clear; we have seen that President Mnangagwa is willing to take this country forward so let us support him.

“These 100 days were full of action,” he said.
He said apart from his clear policies, President Mnangagwa had managed to bring sanity to the ruling party.
“The G40 cabal had brought confusion and wanted to destroy the party, but he has managed to bring sanity in the party.
“We are now on the right track,” he said.
