LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Buses, trucks should have speed governors

Editor — Just a suggestion to the Minister of Transport to consider a law that enforces all public and heavy trucks to have speed governors and trackers installed on such vehicles and with speed limit set at 80km/hr.

The tracker should tell the owner of such a vehicle that his driver was speeding or not so he/she can take action against the driver.

A good example is the black Zambian trucks (name supplied) that carry copper, and have trackers and but have speed governors.

The buses on the Victoria Falls road are speeding, including the big trucks carrying coal, and very soon we will have a very serious accident.

The road is very bad but you still see these buses and trucks speeding, it is very scary indeed.

The other suggestion maybe is that a policemen in civilian clothing boards one of the buses and monitors their speeds, once a driver is arrested then they will know that Government is very serious and that they could be a policeman in the bus.
