Editor – May I through your widely read paper appeal to the Government to set up a land commission to investigate serious allegations of corruption and scandals in the allocation of land in Lupane.
There are social media reports that allege that one of the engineers has more than thirty-two stands in Lupane town.
There are reports of collusive behaviour within the Treasury department were investors who refuse to pay bribes are harassed and threatened in the hope of inducing them “to pay protection tax”.
The revelations in Masvingo were the Commissioners were left shocked by the massive scale of looting must encourage the Government to embark on a national cleansing exercise.
While the Government has proclaimed Zimbabwe as open for business, there are few misguided officials in Lupane who have the audacity to declare Zimbabwe closed in direct opposition to the Government’s mantra.
The land that is in Lupane is now in the hands of a few Town Council employees who are holding on it with the hope of reselling it a astronomical prices.
The Government has a duty to protect the investors from the misguided employees.
However, a land commission will unearth irregularities and take corrective action.
The setting of the Land Commission will assist to address some of the troubling questions about the allocation of land in Lupane.
We are willing to provide the evidence around the shenanigans presided by a certain lady in the Treasury department and some of the employees.
The massive scale of looting is indicative of anti-Government agenda and the smuggling of opposition politics into Lupane town Council. The Government programmes are being sabotaged and resources looted blatantly.
