Letters to the Editor: Hats off to Zimpapers

This week there has been a campaign by your sister publications, “Fix Our Grounds”.

This has been long overdue and Zimpapers should be commended for taking such a stance. We have noticed a reaction from various fronts and this is exactly what we expect. We saw Harare City Council trying to run around so that they seem to be finally doing something about the restoration of Gwanzura Stadium. We also saw Minister Kirsty Coventry touring various facilities, including Chitungwiza’s Aquatic Complex, where she highlighted the sorry state they were in. We need to act now so that we bring some of these facilities back to life. We have so much sporting talent that needs to be supported and the first step is to invest in sporting facilities.

We are the laughing stock of the continent as we do not have a proper football pitch that matches international standards. Well done, Zimpapers! Keep up the good work.

Soccer Fan, Harare.
