LETTERS TO THE EDITOR:Youths should emulate Mtukudzi

Since his sad departure over a month ago, we have been admiring how the dazzling musician superstar Oliver Samanyanga Mutukudzi upheld the virtues of  respect, love, hard work, teamwork and an unflinching sense of success even in the face of odds.

Most youths of today are clueless, lazy, pleasure seeking and  self centred characters who lack principled direction and planning.

We all read in his acres on bibliography how the decorated Mtukudzi defied all life challenges at a very tender age to become the giant musician who used his guitar to cut across geographical boundaries.

Unlike some youths today ,Samanyanga knew himself even at tender age when he started to mould his career in music.

Beer drinking has become the worst enemy of most youths who booze till they are a public nuisance. We have read how some youths under the influence of alcohol forsake their studies choosing to engage into heinous activities such as murder or rape.

Nowadays seeing a gang of youths at night  sends  chills down the spine. Society must refocus and transform these social miscreants  into future assets of the nation.

Role models and icons such Mtukudzi must be emulated by youths
