CHILLSPOT Records label producer, Levels, has been removed from remand in the case in which he was accused of transmitting nude pictures.
The complainant, Levels’ ex-girlfriend, Shashl, didn’t show up at court once again, prompting the State to apply for a postponement.
Levels’ lawyer, Dumisani Mthombeni, opposed the application and filed a counter application for refusal of further remand.
Mthombeni argued that his client intended to travel to the United States and shouldn’t be prejudiced by Shashl, who was no longer interested in seeing the matter to its finality as she had filed a notarised affidavit seeking the withdrawal of the matter.
Presiding magistrate Ruth Moyo agreed with the submissions and ordered the State to summon the parties back to court once their house was in order.
It is the State’s case that during their relationship, they had a misunderstanding which resulted in Shashl calling it quits.
She spurned Levels’ attempts at reconciliation and he warned her that she would regret her decision. On November 27 last year, Shashl was alerted to lewd videos and pictures of her which had gone viral on social media. She suspected Levels of revenge porn and reported the matter to the police.
