Libya launches exceptional Covid-19 vaccination campaign

Libya’s Health Ministry on Saturday announced launching an “exceptional” vaccination campaign against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The vaccination campaign is carried out by National Center for Disease Control and under the direct supervision of the ministry, according to a statement by the ministry.

A number of temporary vaccination centers have been set up in the capital Tripoli, the statement said, adding that it has received 500 000 doses of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V a few days ago.

The tally of Covid-19 cases in Libya reached 229 604, including 185 468 recoveries and 3 344 fatalities, according to the National Centre for Disease Control.- AFRICA CGTN
