A MOTHER helplessly watched two of her sons die and one getting badly injured after a bolt of lightning struck a kitchen hut where she was sheltering from the rain with them.
The incident confirmed by Headman Matsveru occurred on Thursday at around 2pm.
The bodies of the deceased were buried on Friday after a postmortem was waived while the injured was rushed to a clinic. His condition is said to be stable.
Headman Matsveru identified the deceased as Obvious Mutsamwi (4) and Khulekani Hungwe (14) of Dzimati Village under Headman Matsveru.
Obvious, Khulekani and the injured seven-year-old were sitting in their kitchen hut with their mother, Ms Chipo Mutsamwi (47) when the tragedy struck.

“Obvious and Khulekani died on the spot while the other one was left badly injured with serious burns all over the body,” said Headman Matsveru.
He said Ms Mustamwi screamed for help after which, relatives and other villagers attended the scene.
