CAPS United defender Bruce Kangwa appears to have quietly entered another prime time as he has flourished in their last 10 games.
Makepekepe fans now believe that Kangwa does not age.
He is turning 37 later this month but his recent performances have left some suggesting that he can still play at 40.
Ian Bakala is profiting from Kangwa’s versatility and has been playing him as a central defender or a left back.
It is at the centre of defence where he has won the hearts of Makepekepe fans.
Kangwa’s timely interventions denied Green Fuel forward Perfect Chikwende the chance to score twice on Sunday.
In those situations, Chikwende had only CAPS United goalkeeper Harmony Nare in sight before Kangwa ghosted in from the blind side in heroic fashion.
He is one of the troops who are expected to be at their best when they meet Scottland on Sunday.
His consistency has been overshadowed by the club’s slow pace in the championship race.
But the return of Ishmael Wadi is expected to spark life into the Green Machine when it comes to the search for goals.
Makepekepe are also expected to unleash defender Chitosh Chinga and striker Mutshimba Magalu this weekend.
Kangwa said:
“Firstly, I thank the Almighty for the gift of life. I always push myself every day at work. My teammates have been pushing me as well.
“This form is inspired by my passion to do better than before.
“I’m always pushing myself and working hard every day at training. This is the only way I can keep pace with the demands of the game.
“I haven’t been thinking about retiring that much, all I can say is time will tell.
“We just have to stay focused and fate will take its toll when we play Scottland.”
CAPS United have 20 points in 18 attempts.
They are eight points off the top four spot and 17 away from leaders MWOS.
