LESOTHO side Lioli have turned to mind games ahead of their Champions League clash against CAPS United tomorrow.
Coach Halemakale Mahlaha yesterday claimed his side was already looking forward to a first round date against TP Mazembe.
“My friend, I told you that we are going to surprise CAPS and I am sure you did not dismiss it as a joke,” said the coach.
“We are finishing our preparations tomorrow (today) and we will be ready for them. We have come here to compete, to play and to win. To be honest, we are already done with CAPS and we are looking forward to playing TP Mazembe. We are here to prove that we a better team and we are competing in Africa because we were champions in Lesotho and that means we are the best.
“We are in Africa to prove that we are the best and to prove that we have to beat the Zimbabwe champions before we account for TP Mazembe.
We did not come to Zimbabwe for holiday.”
Mahlaha has nine national team players at his disposal.
The Lesotho champions’ 32-year-old captain Shetsane Ramoseka is also confident of victory tomorrow.
“CAPS are a good team but they can’t beat us. We are very confident and we have been working very hard on their weaknesses. We are all very hungry for victory and we want to make history by going past the preliminary stage.
“We want to go back with a victory because we just need a goal then we go back to our country and prepare for the trip to Congo. When the Zimbabwe team are attacking their defence loses shape and we are going to capitalise on that,” said Ramoseka.
Fans from Lesotho are expected to arrive in Harare to cheer their team.
