Lion attack? Granny battles for life in hospital following mauling

A WOMAN believed to be in her 60s from Tsholotsho is battling for life at Mpilo Central hospital after surviving a lion attack yesterday while on her way to the fields in Mathula village.
The woman sustained injuries all over her body.
Tsholotsho District Development Coordinator Mr Aaron Gono confirmed receiving the news and said Tsholotsho Rural District Council rangers have since been dispatched to hunt down the animal, although at the moment there is no certainty if it’s a lion or leopard.
“Yes we received such reports of a stray animal but it’s not clear whether it’s a lion or leopard. We have also been informed that a lady, believed to be in her 60s survived an attack yesterday morning while on her way to the fields. Council has since dispatched its rangers to hunt down the animal,” said Mr Gono.
