Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of one of Africa’s most scenic and exhilarating races — the 2025 Econet Victoria Falls Marathon! 🌄🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

It’s just after 5.30am and the city is already buzzing with activity. From the glow of headlights lining up Baobab Primary School to the rhythmic stomps of athletes warming up under floodlights, the energy is palpable. More than 5 200 runners are expected to take part in today’s races, from elite international marathoners to local first-timers chasing personal bests.

We’ll be bringing you minute-by-minute updates, results, photos, interviews, and all the excitement as it unfolds — from the starting gun to the final stride across the finish line.

Renowned marathon runner Isaac Mpofu who won last year’s half marathon (21km) is this year running the full marathon (42km).
