THE 96th Bulawayo Polytechnic Graduation ceremony is underway at the main campus this Wednesday morning.
Family and friends of the hundreds of graduands are still trickling into the venue.

Graduands, dressed to the nines, are up on their feet dancing and soaking in the carnival atmosphere on one of the most important days of their academic careers.
The Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Simelisizwe Sibanda, will be the guest of honour.

Ministers arrive for Bulawayo Poly arrive for graduation

THE Minister of State for Bulawayo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Judith has taken to the podium to welcome other VIP who are in attendance at the Bulawayo Polytechnic Graduation Ceremony.
She has welcomed to Bulawayo Metropolitan Province, the Minister of State for Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution Albert Nguluvhe as well as the Deputy Minister for Higher and Tertiary, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Honourable Simelisizwe Sibanda.
Hon Sibanda is also the guest of honour.
Other VIP include politicians, academics, senior officials from the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development among others.
3 690 graduate at Bulawayo Poly

A TOTAL of 3 690 students graduated at the Bulawayo Polytechnic’s 96th graduation ceremony on Wednesday at the institution’s main campus.
The graduates consisted of 1 641 males and 2 049 females.
The educational institution of higher learning recorded a pass rate of 78 percent.
2 756 graduates were drawn from the Higher Education Examinations Council (HEXCO) comprising of 1 341 females and 1 450 females.
436 students graduated in short courses, (155 males and 246 females).
In the Integrated Skills Expansion Outreach Programme (ISEOP), 498 students were capped (145 males and 353 females).

HARD work, perseverance and dedication are finally paying off for scores of graduates who are being awarded with individual awards in their respective faculties.

The award-winning graduates excelled in their studies in departments such as Adult Education, Electrical and Civil Engineering, Logistics and Transport Management, Applied Science, Banking and Finance, Plumbing and Drain Laying, among other departments.

Numerous companies sponsored the individual awards.
