Challenge yourself to make a positive impact in your lifetime.
Those that have set incredible records are ordinary people, just like you and me.
Mohammed Ali, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Abedi Pele, Mother Theresa, Nick Price, Benjamin Burombo, Maud Chifamba, and Usain Bolt, just to mention a few.
Every society has its own list of record-holders, and the world embraces them all.
Of all the mentioned individuals, there is nothing really out of ordinary in their genetic and structural makeup.
They are normal human beings, just like you and me.
Even disability does not spell inability.
Everyone can and should challenge themselves to be heroic.
It is a case of being the best at what you do.
It has nothing to do with age; Maud Chifamba broke the local record for being the youngest academic achiever, while Mother Theresa was elderly in her charity endeavours.
Donata Katai made a name for herself as the first indigenous Zimbabwean Olympic swimmer. In any discipline, excellence trumps any other factor.
Setting new records has nothing to do with any specific discipline. One can make history in any area they set their sights on.
Usain Bolt was the best sprinter; Benjamin Burombo took charity to a different level; Nick Price made history for Zimbabwean golf.
Always seek to explore your full potential, and you will make history along the way.
Nothing should stand in your way.
History is not made from the top.
At the top, you look back and appreciate the path you would trodden.
Be the best at what you do.
If you make it a habit to excel, you will find yourself making the headlines.
When you make headlines, do not allow pride to overcome you.
No one has a monopoly to excellence, so always be humble while you are at it.
And know that those that come after you have the potential to do even better.
Michael Duane Johnson set records that were broken by Usain Bolt on the athletics track…the next record is still up for grabs.
As at February 2023, Lebron James stands out as the National Basketball Association (NBA) history – points leader, which now awaits to be broken. Michael Jordan, who is now fifth on the record, was once the NBA hero.
No record is beyond reach. Excellence has no upper cap.
The sky is not the limit; there is a footprint on the moon.
Do not restrict yourself to the known.
If it has never been done before, that does not mean it cannot be done.
The weak know what has not been done, and talk about it.
The achievers think about what has not been done, and attempt it.
If it has never been done, then it can start with you.
To be the best there has ever been, do not make it end with you. Be kind enough to mentor others to achieve even greater.
The biggest loser is one who does not pass on their abilities, knowledge and skills.
No legacy should be allowed to die.
When you share, you do not lose who you are, but you grow and become a larger-than-life character, as your legacy lives on.
Every successful person typically attributes their success to another history maker.
Someone needs your inspiration.
You do not need a television interview, or to make newspaper headlines to make history.
Be a hero within your own community.
Not everyone watches television or reads a newspaper, but those close to you can see you every day.
To be your best, do not live for the camera.
While publicity is good, it can be a limiting factor, so be content with excelling even when no one is watching
You can make history, apply yourself fully and be the best society is yet to see.
