Heroic!
Enthralling!
Chef-d’oeuvre, if not masterclass! In the thriftiness of time, a classic is difficult to decalcify. The Rainbow Towers, Zimbabwe’s ceremonial home of everything comfortable, is the place everyone wishes to just have a lifetime experience.
After hard work and when the mind requires that rest, the Rainbow Towers, is one place you can have a soothing experience in the ambiance of tasteful decorum and trinkets.
Today, though it is not about the splendour venue.
If you haven’t been there, definitely with those four words, you have captured the moments and already visualized how the show was.
Well, first thing first, a month ago the inter-denominational choral outfit Zimpraise Choir dubbed Zimpraise Legacy announced that they were holding a show at the Rainbow Towers, Harare to the joy of many.
What delighted many was not that they were hosting the mega-concert, but the line-up of artistes billed to perform.
Yet alone, they also announced that the event was free for general access thus the top side of the auditorium of the giant Rainbow Towers.
The ground and centre which is close to the stage labelled VIP and VVIP, was not free but fans and guests had to fork out US$20 and US$50.
Surprisingly, the house was full, to the extent some fans were turned away.
Imagine having 4 500 people coming together to worship and praise the Lord.
The event was held last Sunday from 2 pm to 9 pm and already by 11 am there were long queues of people from all walks of life.
It became difficult to control the crowds in the queue, the stampede as they started shouting and chanting songs of Zimpraise Choir and from their favourite artistes.
However, as the time drew near to start the show while there were people still outside, organisers later allowed the remaining crowd to find space where to stand and enjoy the seven-hour-long fiesta.
The event saw artistes such as bubbly Janet Manyowa, power couple The Cherayis’, recently awarded Best Gospel Male Africa, Everton Mlalazi, Jonah Chivasa, Kuda Mutsvene, Sir Benjamin Rupapa, Joyful Praise, and Spirit Praise among others entertaining fans during their segment, according to the programme.
They all had a good day in the office as they took turns to serenade fans with their hit songs.
Somehow the show became a sing-along concert, more of like a karaoke session as gospel fans, young and old had a good time, after their church service.
The show also saw radio and television personality Becky K putting up a scintillating act as she flawlessly sailed through her pace.
Becky K brought her ‘A’ game as she interacted well with the crowd, she was supported by seasoned master of ceremony Tich Mawoni.
Enough of the star-studded lineup as the show was more of Zimpraise Legacy powered by Nyaradzo Group.

The choral did not disappoint as they belted out songs from their discography, leaving the crowd in a frenzy mood.
Remember it is the same choir that had the whole of the United Kingdom at its standstill in July that hosted AfriPraise, a first in the history of gospel.
Yes, they came, saw, and conquered, and of course, during the past week, they were trending with what happened last Sunday.
Reviews have been done but what makes the choral outfit unique as they managed to stand the taste of time.
Under the leadership of its founder and chief executive, Joseph Madziyire, the choir is more than just a gospel music ensemble as they embody the spirit of Zimbabwean culture, showcasing the country’s rich musical heritage and spreading messages of faith and hope.
A survey has proven that through their vibrant performances and commitment to community development, Zimpraise continues to be a cultural force, uniting people through the power of music and fostering national pride.
“With a rich history and a dedicated following, Zimpraise has become a cultural institution that represents the essence of Zimbabwean gospel music,” said one music critic.
Founded in 2006 with a vision to revive and promote gospel music in Zimbabwe, over the years, the ensemble has evolved, starting as a small group and growing into a large choir with diverse voices and instrumentalists.
Their repertoire includes both traditional gospel songs and contemporary compositions, blending various genres and African rhythms.

On the musical style and expression, Zimpraise’s music is characterized by powerful vocals, harmonies, and energetic performances. They skillfully infuse traditional Zimbabwean elements, such as mbira, hosho, and marimba, into their arrangements and this unique fusion creates a distinct sound that resonates with audiences, both locally and internationally.
Madziyire said they not only sing about societal settings but protray the aspect of cultural impact.
“When it comes to culture, we have a significant impact on Zimbabwean culture, acting as a platform for preserving and promoting traditional values and beliefs,” he said.
“Our music reflects the spiritual heritage of Zimbabwe, spreading messages of hope, faith, and unity.”
Reviewing collaborations and outreach they have won many souls with that.
“We have collaborated with various renowned gospel artistes, both within Zimbabwe and internationally, to create powerful musical collaborations.”
“Our outreach initiatives extend beyond music, engaging in philanthropic projects and community development programs that aim to uplift and empower Zimbabwean communities.
These efforts further solidify our commitment to making a positive impact,” he explained.
“To date, we have hosted Bishop TD Jakes, Bishop John Francis, Joyous Celebration, Ntokozo Mbambo Mbatha, and Sipho Makhabane, among others. On international recognition, our talent and dedication have earned us recognition on the international stage.”
“We have performed in numerous countries, sharing their Zimbabwean gospel music with diverse audiences worldwide. Our performances have garnered acclaim, contributing to the elevation of Zimbabwean music on the global platform,” he explained.
In 2021, the group announced that they were rebranding.
Madziyire said that over the decade, they had grown to become one of the leading gospel brands to emerge out of Zimbabwe and Africa with the main drive being to evangelize, initiate and deliver the gospel to every household in Zimbabwe, Africa and the world.
“We rebranded to Zimpraise Legacy Network after 15 years of existence.”
“Under the new setup, we started showcasing projects by different players in the Christian world as has been seen over the past week.
“Our efforts will be directed to four main areas namely, The Zimpraise Legacy TV, Zimpraise Academy, Zimpraise Music, and AfriPraise,” said Madziyire, adding that the children’s project, Zimpraise Kidz will remain.”
He said the new look has created a platform for individual musicians, groups, and artists to partner with them in releasing, distributing and marketing music.
Since 2006, Zimpraise boasts of over 18 productions, which include 13 seasons, one Women of Praise project and four Hymns Night albums. They have won many hearts and managed to remain intact, their secret to success is dedication.
