The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) extended an invitation to eight local actors to attend a collaborative meeting and witness the inauguration of the newly elected national executives.
The invitation which aims to promote cultural exchange and collaboration between Nigerian and Zimbabwean actors will see Takunda Tapfuma, Faith Mupundu, Allen Makocho, Ashely Estone, Michael Machiona, Liberty Jeure, Admire Mushambi, and Given Mare.
The AGN, with over one million members across Nigeria, is the largest association in the culture sector in Africa and a proud affiliate of the International Federation of Actors (FIA).
The eight delegates of The Content Creators Association of Zimbabwe (COCAZ) are expected to visit Lagos, Asaba, and Kano States, which are hubs for English, Yoruba, and Hausa films in Nigeria.
Co-Founder of COCAZ, Takunda Tapfuma said the team will have the opportunity to meet Nollywood veteran actors.
Tapfuma believes that the invitation explores cultural values and promotes unity, making it a perfect fit for COCAZ’s mission to preserve and promote African cultural identity.
“This is a good and unique opportunity for us to promote cultural exchange and showcase Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage.
“We’re happy to be part of this important event that will give us the opportunity to share our commitment to promoting African cultural values,” he said.
During their stay, the team will engage with Nollywood veterans and explore potential collaborations.
Tapfuma said the trip will undoubtedly strengthen bonds between Zimbabwean and Nigerian creatives, paving the way for future joint projects.
“We are also hoping for collaborations so that our participation will showcase local content creators’ talents so that they will be able to learn and share with other countries in future.
“We are eager to promotes cultural exchange between us and Nigeria and showcasing Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage.”
Last year COCAZ had collaboration with Zambia and other African countries.
The team participate at the Nigeria South Africa Relations (NSAR) 2025 conference, the event which aims to strengthen collaboration between African content creators.
It also participated in a cultural exchange program in Iran and also had another visit to Nigeria to promote international cooperation.
COCAZ is an organisation that unites content creators to foster growth, development, and collaboration within the industry.
It aims to provide training, networking opportunities, and access to resources for its members, while also advocating for their rights and promoting Zimbabwean content globally.
