THE film, Rise which was shot in Victoria Falls and Harare by a local crew and cast premiers in the resort city for the first time today Friday evening.
The film, inspired by a true story and written by Jessica Rowlands, premiered in Harare on Thursday night and Friday will be shown at the Victoria Falls Theatre and Elephant Walk.

The main actor is Tongayi Chirisa.
Also starring is Sikhanyiso Ngwenya, a young boy from Chinotimba.
The red carpet event will see the audience arriving and being hosted for some refreshments before the film screening starts at 6:45pm.
The film is 25 minutes long and thereafter there will be an interaction between the crew, cast and audience including media.
“A new film shot in Victoria Falls starring Tongayi Chirisa and introducing Sikhanyiso Ngwenya is having its first-ever screening, exclusively for the people of Victoria Falls, on Friday 8th November at the Victoria Falls Theatre, Elephant’s Walk,” said Rowlands.
The proprietor of the Victoria Falls Boxing Academy, Tobias Mupfuti is the inspiration behind the film which carries his life story.

Those intending to attend can pay any amount as the organisers did not set a specific figure.
All proceeds will go towards the Victoria Falls Boxing Academy charity supporting the less privileged local children of the Victoria Falls community.
Auditions for the film were done in Victoria Falls, Hwange and Binga last year.
