The partnership is expected to give Algo a global footprint and would make it the only local company to offer VoIP at global level.
Algo administers and distributes VoIP services and offers first-hand access to VoIP new products and services on the market while JC Broadband holds an Individual Electronic Communications Network Service licence in South Africa to provide broadband internet access with value added services and Voice over Internet.
“Through this partnership, we are going to make inroads in areas that were previously reserved for the select few,” Mr Bhuker Chikono, the company’s business development executive, said.
He said the business is expected to provide telephone services to a targeted market of 10 000 subscribers with a profit potential of US$1,2 million in the first year of operations.
He also noted that this is a positive development for the people of sub-Saharan Africa as they would be able to make telephone calls at very cheap rates.
“The partnership gives Algo the regional and global footprint required for its VoIP products to reach Africa and the rest of the world.
“The company presently services customers in the country, and will now move to compete with more than 1 450 new and established VoIP and telecommunication service providers on a global scale,” Mr Chikono said.
He said the company ensures best returns on technology investments by companies and individuals by strengthening user experience through development and support of best-in-class VoIP solutions.
“Algo has the experience of working on varied environments and cross-vendor platforms. This enables them to offer platinum service to all clients and to make sure that their services are always available to end customers,” he added.
