A software development company, Logicode (Private) Limited, was launched in Harare yesterday.
The company has been in existence for more than two years.
Speaking at the launch, Logicode managing director Ms Hellen Timm said the idea behind the launch was to transform a dream into reality.
“Logicode is a 100 percent Zimbabwe- owned company offering organisations an opportunity to enjoy the latest developments in technology.
‘‘A lot of organisations have been able to access technology albeit with some challenges but they have not been able to fully enjoy the technology and therefore through technological expertise Logicode has been launched with the aim to bridge the gap through offering consultancy services,” she said.
She also said Logicode has come up with softwares that will ensure efficiency among different public and private organisations.
“We have come up with softwares or oracle products that are destined to make different jobs easier and as you know different corporates have gone technological and it takes requisite softwares and ICT products to meet the demands.
“Logicode is a consultancy company that is going to add value to the industry,” she added.
An IT specialist with Logicode, Mr Ian Campbell, added that the company was going to analyse the current infrastructure and compare it with their requirements.
“Based on consultations that we will make we are going to tailor the most suitable solution for that particular situation.
Once the results have been agreed upon and shared, the process of procurement begins, followed by implementation where we work closely with different teams throughout the entire process,” he said.
“This is followed by formal training of those team members that will be interacting with the system and offering support services and updates right through the entire lifetime of the system,” Mr Campbell added.
Among Oracle Support Services offered by Logicode are expert oracle database support, expert oracle implementation support, expert oracle remote DBA support, and emergency consulting and support systems analysis and design.
Logicode is also the leading and accredited provider of IT Infrastructure Library training in Zimbabwe which is the world’s most widely accepted approach to management.
It describes processes, procedures, tasks and checklists that are not organisation-specific, meaning that they can used by an organisation for establishing integration with the organisation’s strategy to deliver value and maintaining a minimum level of competency.
