A TOTAL of 161 000 tickets have been sold ahead of tomorrow’s State Lottery draw-unit, two of the 118th State lottery, carrying a first prize of £20 000.
This is the second highest number since the Christmas draw. Last month, 185 000 tickets were sold.
The £1 000 prizes have dropped in number from 15 to nine. Next month’s lottery is a sweepstake on the Durban July.
The director of State Lotteries, Mr H. W. F. de Smidt, said that the draw would be on all horses in the final acceptances.
The first number drawn would get the first horse, the second number wanted £1 000 would get the second horse on the list, until all the horses have been drawn.
The Durban-July sweepstake prizes would total £30 000, with a first prize of £20 000.
LESSONS FOR TODAY
State lotteries are a great initiative to raise money for a good cause as some of the money raised is donated to various charities.
Betting and gambling can be fun and an easy way of earning a lot of money. It helps people to remain occupied.
There is, however, a downside to gambling and betting. It can be very addictive and can create problems such as bankruptcy.
