Love triangle leads to fatal stabbing

A 28-year-old man from Dombodema in Bulilima District, Matabeleland South Province was fatally stabbed by a drunk man while drinking beer at his work place on Christmas Day.

He has been identified as Kenny Moyo and was allegedly killed by Senzeni Ndlovu (42) who they were once involved in a love triangle with one woman. According to the police, on 25 December at around 5pm at Mataba Complex, Plumtree, Ndlovu, who was visibly drunk approached the now deceased and his other two colleagues while they were drinking beer at their work place and said he was going to kill them.

The accused had one brown Okapi knife in his right hand. At first he tried to stab Mr Johanne Noko one of the deceased’s colleagues just below the right ear, but Mr Noko blocked and the knife fell onto the ground. 

Sensing danger Mr Noko fled from the scene leaving his two colleagues with Ndlovu. The accused person then went further and stabbed the now deceased once just below the left breast. 

Moyo was rushed to Plumtree District Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries before admission. A police report was made and the accused person arrested.

Matabeleland South provincial  police spokesperson Inspector Loveness Mangena confirmed the incident and urged members of the public to desist from violence.

“As police we urge members of the public to desist in engaging in violence and seek third parties to solve their disputes,” she said.
