THREE of Bulawayo’s four functional swimming pools -Mpopoma, Luveve, and Northend- recorded a decrease in attendance and revenue in April compared to the same period last year.
According to the latest Bulawayo City Council (BCC) report, the local authority has five pools, with the other pool, Barham Green, remaining closed due to ongoing repairs.
Bulawayo City Pool is the only one that recorded a slight increase in revenue.
The city council attributed the low attendance at its swimming pools to low temperatures recorded in the city in April.
Bulawayo City Pool made US$1 870 in April this year, an increase of US$4 compared to last year.
Mpopoma Pool made a loss of US$206 after recording 397 people who used the facility last month compared to 905 people in the same month last year.
