ZIFA Northern Region Division Two and Three yesterday unveiled their knockout tournament title sponsor after Dees Dairy came on board with a US$10 000 package.
The sponsorship deal was unveiled in the capital yesterday with club representatives for all the 40 clubs in attendance.
The sponsorship will see all the 40 clubs affiliated with the league battle it out for a US$2 500 first prize.
Robert Tembo, the league chairman, said the development will go a long way in promoting grassroots football development through the annual knock-out tournament.
“We are delighted to announce that Dee’s Dairy who are in the business of yoghurts and ice creams have come on board to sponsor this year’s ZIFA Harare Province Division Two League knockout soccer tournament.
“We will have all the 40 teams taking part in a knockout tournament which will kick-off later this month. “We are grateful to Dee’s Dairy who have partnered us and the winning team will walk away with US$2 500 and runners up pocketing US$1 500 while semi-finalists will walk home US$ 1000 rich.
“The teams which is under our league will be expected to take part and the cup games will run concurrently with the league. Like every other year we are excited to have the knockout tournament for the league and it is a plus for us as a league.
“Teams will be expected to fulfil the fixtures and we will have a draw for the first round anytime next week,” said Tembo.
