Lowveld Pro-Am defending champion in control

“I am happy to be on pole position going into the third round of the event and I owe this to hard work.
“I had difficult putts in the first rounds until after the second day’s first nine.
“I went to the second round on two-over-par but had five straight birdies in the second nine.
“My putting almost cost me but I am happy that I have mastered it well.
“We will be playing in Triangle in the remaining rounds and I rate this as the more challenging of the two courses,” sad Mketekete.
Mkeketeke said he will not be under any pressure today.
“I have set my own standards and I will stick to them.
“I will not look at anyone’s results but play my own game.
“We are playing under humid conditions but we are used to the conditions and I hope we will continue to adjust,” Mketekete said.
Mketekete is leading the second-placed trio of Ryan Cairns, Roger Jack and Dale Howie who are all on two-under-par after the two rounds.
Meanwhile, the Manicaland Ladies Golf Union will host their annual fund-raiser at Leopard Rock starting this morning.
The tournament will be sponsored by Dulux and is open to all women golfers.
