LP gas cylinder dispute leads to stabbing on the head

A 43-year-old Bulawayo man appeared in court for allegedly stabbing a complainant once on the head with a kitchen knife following a misunderstanding over the refilling of an LP gas cylinder.

Methuleli Ncube of Pumula East appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Jeconia Prince Ncube facing a charge of assault.

He was remanded to June 11 pending a medical report.

Prosecutor, Mr Tafara Dzimbanhete told the court that the accused person and complainant are not related, but reside in the same neighbourhood.

He said on June 3, 2026 at around 8PM and at the accused person’s place of residence, Dumisani Nare (36) had a misunderstanding with the accused person.

The court heard that the misunderstanding arose after the complainant accused the accused person of refilling his LP gas cylinder with air.

This angered the accused person, who allegedly took a kitchen knife and stabbed Nare once on the head.

A police report was made leading to the arrest of the accused person and the complainant was referred to hospital for medical attention, said Mr Dzimbanhete.
