LUPANE State University (LSU) women’s team darts coach, Patrick Nkiwane is delighted after his team won gold at the recently held Zimbabwe Universities Sports Association games that took place in Mutare.

Drawn in group B, the LSU lasses took on their counterparts from Bindura University of Science Education, Chinhoyi University of Technology, Great Zimbabwe University, Africa University, Women’s University in Africa, and Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University.
They came first in their pool and went on to face the National University of Science and Technology who also qualified from group A.
In the semifinals, LSU won by 9-6 and went to the finals where they clashed with a competitive Midlands State University team.
The final went to a tie break as the score line was 8-8. Each team chose one best player to represent them in the decider and it was LSU’s Wayne Mandhlanzi who got them a win.
Nkiwane gave high praise to his team, in particular Eunice Moyo, who started playing the sport when she was in part one and is now in the national team.

“I am very proud of my players. I got my student Eunice Moyo whom I started with when she was in part one, she is now a national player,’’ said Nkiwane.
Moyo won a gold medal on Sunday in an Easter tournament which was held at Milton High.
The LSU darts team will represent other universities in the ZITISU Games whose dates are yet to be announced. – @Welldonendlovu.
