Lukaku transfer stampede

LONDON. — Romelu Lukaku has sparked a £56 million transfer stampede among six major clubs after giving the biggest hint yet that he wants to quit Everton. Lukaku (22) is desperate to play in the Champions League next season and has revealed his agent is working behind the scenes to help him fulfil his dream.

But his dad, Roger, believes his son should choose Manchester United who are still desperately fighting for a top four finish. Bayern Munich would be another major choice in Roger’s eyes.

Real Madrid, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea are also in the frame for Lukaku, who joined Everton for £28 million in the summer of 2014 when Jose Mourinho sanctioned his exit. — The Daily Star.
