Lukosi Pirates plot Blackrock’s downfall

ZIFA Matabeleland North Division 2A middle table placed Lukosi Pirates are determined to be the first team to hand second placed Blackrock their first league defeat when the two sides clash in what promises to be a pulsating tie at Sports Pavilion this afternoon.

Pirates, the only team out of the urban set up in the league, have been steadily rising up the ladder by the week and their coach Nkululeko Ndlovu declared war on Blackrock.

“Soccer is a crazy game and we want to come and spoil the party for Blackrock who are unbeaten so far in the league. We have on-fire players like Moses Khumalo, Edmore Mumpande, Resemblance Ncube, Reuben Mpala and Marceline Mlilo who are capable of destroying any team. ” he said.

Pirates will have to be at their best to upstage Blackrock who have been thriving on the exploits of agile goalkeeper Elvis Ruzive, Arnold Ndiamba, Gideon Makotose, Brighton Ndou and captain Ephanos Sibanda so far this season.

Leaders Moto Moto have a tricky tie against unpredictable Iwisa Sparrows with the soldiers realising that any slip up will hand Blackrock the initiative.

The sides are only separated by a single point.

Trumus Warriors welcome Hwange side Nengasha Stars at Chinotimba ground while OT Lions Academy entertain Classic Luyando at Lwendulu Old ground.

Fallen giants Ingagula will be hard pressed for a win when they play host to gritty Dete team Shumba Stars at Chakona ground.

Tomorrow, Flying Elephants will hope to redeem themselves when they clash with fellow strugglers Corinthians at Chinotimba ground in an early kick off.

Amagagasi U-19 should expect a baptism of fire when they welcome Hwange Reserves at the same venue at 12PM. An intriguing battle is in store as Baobab Rovers lock horns with impressive Hotspurs Leopards at Megawatt at 3PM to round up the weekend action.
