Luphahla snubs lucrative platinum clubs’ offers

Former Northern Region Division One side Golden Eagles coach Joel Luphahla snubbed lucrative offers from Ngezi Platinum Stars and FC Platinum to join his boyhood club Highlanders where he will be the second assistant coach to Mandla Mpofu.

The two cashflash platinum sides had offered Luphahla way more than what Bosso had tabled.

It is believed that the press statement issued by Highlanders on Tuesday could have led to the collapse of the two offers, especially from FC Platinum where head coach Norman Mapeza reportedly decided against roping in Luphahla “because he didnt want to engage in a tussle with Highlanders, a team he respects a lot”.

At Ngezi, Luphahla would have been assistant to a former Warriors’ skipper.

Contacted for comment, Luphahla refused to engage on the platinum sides’ offers, and only confirmed that he was on his way to Bulawayo.
