Lupita fans, actors fooled

Entertainment Reporter
Some local actors and Lupita Nyong’o’s fans yesterday went to Rainbow Cinemas in the city centre hoping to see the actress’ team that we reported to be in the country in our April Fool’s Day prank yesterday.
We reported that Lupita’s team were in the country to talk about her upcoming movie which will also be shot in Zimbabwe and has one of our filmmaker Edmore Ndlovu co-writing.

There was no such team in the country and the cinemas have been closed for a couple of months.

One vendor identified as Mai Moyo said they saw smartly dressed people especially ladies at the Rainbow Theatre.

“At first I did not believe that it was a joke because by 9.30am some people were enquiring about  Lupita here. I don’t even know who Lupita is but I was later told of the story in the paper,” she said.

Some popular actors including filmmaker and Ndlovu came to the venue.

Commenting over the issue filmmaker Ndlovu said he knew about the trick but wanted to see how Zimbabweans react.
