Luveve community donates to Entembeni Old People’s Home

A group of residents from New Luveve recently gave a little cheer to the elderly residents of Entembeni Old People’s Home when they donated various foodstuffs.

On March 29, six members of this group known as Luveve Generous Hearts, donated groceries that included mealie meal, sugar, cooking oil, sugar beans,adult pampers and rice worth over USD640 to the old people’s home in Old Luveve on March 29.

 

The six Sibongile Masuku, Loveness Gwebu, Prosper Sibanda, Getrude Makoni, Bongani Dube and Danisa Mpofu represented the group that has members based in Zimbabwe, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

The occasion began with had word of devotion from Mpofu before the group was introduced to the Entembeni residents by Gwebu while Masuku led the prayer.

Speaking for the group, Gwebu said their group’s objective is to assist marginalised communities within their immediate environs. She said the group comprised young and older people who grew up on New Luveve who share a vision of giving.

“We have quite a few members and our primary objective is to help under-priviledged members of our community,” Gwebu shared.

Sibanda echoed her sentiments adding that this donation was among many projects that they will be embarking on this year.
