Soulful Shona-Trap artiste M.G HKh is turning inward with his latest single, Damaged Thoughts, an offering that explores emotional struggles, self-reflection and the journey towards healing.
The Harare-based rapper and songwriter, born Prince Peter Moyo, is set to release the single on August 14, following the positive reception of his previous offering, Sadza Rakashisha.
While Sadza Rakashisha was driven by an energetic celebration of resilience, determination and the everyday hustle, Damaged Thoughts presents a more vulnerable side of the artiste as he confronts the battles that often remain hidden behind closed doors.

Produced by bigboybeats93, the single combines atmospheric trap production with M.G HKh’s trademark introspective storytelling, soulful melodies and Shona lyricism. Isolucci provides backing vocals, while Dollar HE delivers a spoken-word outro that reinforces the song’s central message of emotional resilience and personal growth.
M.G HKh said the track was inspired by the need to confront difficult emotions rather than allowing them to define one’s life.
“Damaged Thoughts is about confronting the battles we often fight in silence. Everyone carries thoughts shaped by pain, disappointment and life’s experiences, but those struggles don’t have to define us. The song encourages people to acknowledge those emotions while finding the strength to move forward.”

The artiste sees the single as an important progression in his musical journey, deliberately moving away from the high-energy feel of his previous release to explore the more complicated emotional experiences that shape people.
“Every project tells a different chapter of my story. Sadza Rakashisha celebrated perseverance and energy, while Damaged Thoughts explores what happens behind closed doors when you’re alone with your thoughts. I wanted listeners to know that vulnerability is also a form of strength.”
The release comes as M.G HKh continues to build momentum around his distinctive Soulful Shona-Trap sound, a style that fuses contemporary trap production with traditional language, soulful melodies and personal storytelling.
His previous single, No Pressure, has surpassed 50 000 organic streams on Spotify, while Sadza Rakashisha received an international premiere through Canada’s V13 Media Group, giving the artiste further exposure beyond Zimbabwe.
Damaged Thoughts is also expected to set the tone for M.G HKh’s forthcoming project, Broken Chemistry, which is slated for release later this year.
