MABELREIGN GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL finally held its long-awaited prefects’ investiture on March 15.

The event was graced by the district schools’ inspector for Mabelreign/Warren Park, Mr Shadreck Sithole Nyabanga; the head of the school, Mrs Nomatamsanqa Kusena; the Ellis Robins School staff; and the prefects’ parents.

The school choir, led by Miss Shelter Mary Nyandoro, kept everyone on their feet with its energetic performances.  The ceremony saw the prefects taking an oath.

The event was also marked by the badging of these learners’ leaders.

The new head girl, Nyasha Satumba, was flanked by the vice head girl, Rutendo Makungwa; senior prefect Heal Mtasa; cultural prefect Ropafadzo Chibaya; and charity prefect Yemurai Mtandagavi during the inauguration.

Satumba gave an acceptance speech that showed the prefects’ dedication to restore the school’s glory in terms of discipline.

Unfortunately, the joyous event ended too soon.

A vote of thanks was delivered by the vice head girl.

Nyasha Satumba is an Upper Six learner at Mabelreign Girls High School.
