MABVUKU High School head, Josiah Mbirimi, has encouraged both parents and students to appreciate every effort put towards achieving success.
Mbirimi also challenged every student to never give up regardless of what comes their way but rather keep trying, pushing and working hard.
Speaking at the Prize Giving Day, Mbirimi said his students are prepared for whatever life throws at them, including the work place.
Running under the theme “Celebrating Diversity and Aspiration,” the school believes in nurturing values first, kindness, empathy, understanding, a good work ethic, flexibility, resilience, creativity, good judgment and excellence in expressing themselves.
“Each student here represents a unique journey, filled with challenges and triumphs, and today we recognise the hard work that has brought us to this moment.
“This year, we have much to celebrate.
“Our A-Level results soared to an impressive 95 percent in 2023 a testament to the dedication and perseverance of our students and teachers alike.
“However, as we celebrate this remarkable achievement, we must also reflect on our O-Level results, which stood at 35 percent.
“While we acknowledge that this is a significant accomplishment, it also reminds us that we have room for growth.
“In comparison, the national pass rate was 26%, indicating that we are performing above average, but we must not become complacent.
“Diversity is not only about our backgrounds and experiences; it is also about our aspirations and our potential to rise together.
“It teaches us that every student’s journey is different, and while some may excel in certain areas, others may face greater challenges.
“Our goal today should be to uplift each other, to encourage every student to strive for excellence and to support one another in our respective journeys.
“To our students who received awards today, your achievements are commendable and you serve as role models for your peers.
“But let us remember that with great success comes great responsibility.
“You have the opportunity to inspire those around you and to foster an environment where everyone feels empowered to reach for their goals.
“To our O-Level students: your journey is just beginning. This year’s results are not the end but rather a stepping stone towards future achievements.
“Let’s work together to elevate these numbers, setting our sights higher and encouraging one another to push beyond our limits. Remember, every setback is a set-up for a comeback,” he said.

The prize winners are a true representation of everything that we stand for here at Mabvuku High School.
These hard-working, articulate young people are a credit to the school and an inspiration to us all.
It is through such achievements that we are able to see the skill, high expectations and commitment of the staff and pupils at Mabvuku High School and these prize winners are great examples of what we hope for from our pupils.
SDC
I wish to congratulate the new executive committee, which was elected in FEBRUARY 2024, for working tirelessly to unite the parents with teachers. We are blessed to have such an SDA that works hand in glove with the Administration as they sacrifice their time day and night for the benefit and betterment of our pupils and children.
Allow me to thank Mabvuku High SDC led by Mr Simon Nyakudya for working tirelessly towards the development of our school by repairing chairs, servicing school equipment, providing examination material, and the general upkeep and maintenance of the school, this lessens the burden of running a mega school like Mabvuku High
To our teachers and staff, thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students.
Your dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment is invaluable. You play a crucial role in helping each student realise their potential, regardless of their starting point.
