Macadamia farming projects for Mutare North youths

YOUTHS in Mutare North have ventured into macadamia farming in a bid to promote self-sustenance among young people in the area.

 

More than 20 youths in the constituency have received training in macadamia farming to ensure successful projects that are profitable.

 

Zanu PF youth coordinator in Mutare North Cde Getrude Makoni said the youths are set to benefit from this development that will increase food security and nutrition as well as promote their livelihoods in line with National Development Strategy 1.

 

The programme is targeting to have every beneficiary group plant their macadamia trees by year end.

 

The party’s Manicaland provincial chairman Cde Mike Madiro initiated the programme.

 

About 800 youths in Makoni District also received training in apiculture courtesy of Zanu PF Manicaland’s Youth League with the support of Allied Timbers and 200 of them are now reaping the rewards.
