Machaya recovering from accident

Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs Cde Jason Machaya is recovering in a Harare hospital after he was injured in an accident that happened along the Harare-Gweru Road, just outside Chegutu on Sunday.

According to his wife Fatima, Cde Machaya was travelling alone from Harare when the accident occurred.

She said he was in pain, but in a stable condition.

“My husband was involved in a road accident which occurred outside Chegutu on Sunday afternoon. He was travelling alone from Harare to Sherwood Farm in Kwekwe,” said Mrs Machaya.

“One of the wheels of his Land Rover Discovery 4 came off and the car rolled over.

He is admitted at Avenues Clinic and is recovering well. He is in a stable condition but is in a lot of pain.”

Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the accident.

She, however, said she was still to be furnished with details of the accident.
