Machaya survives car crash

THE Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs, Cde Jason Machaya is recovering in a Harare hospital after he was injured in an accident that happened along the Harare-Gweru Road, just outside Chegutu on Sunday.

According to his wife, Fatima, Cde Machaya was travelling alone when the accident occurred while he was on his way from Harare.

She said he was in pain, but in a stable condition.

“My husband was involved in a road traffic accident which occurred outside Chegutu on Sunday afternoon. He was travelling alone from Harare to Sherwood Farm in Kwekwe,” said Mrs Machaya.

“One of the wheels of his Land Rover Discovery 4 came off and the car rolled over. He is admitted to Avenues Clinic and is recovering well. He is in a stable condition but is in a lot of pain.”

Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the accident.

She was however still to be furnished with the exact details of the accident.
