Sungura king Alick Macheso narrowly escaped death after being involved in a road accident along the Mutoko Highway near Blue Ridge Complex early this morning.
The incident sparked widespread concern on social media after pictures of a damaged Toyota Fortuner believed to belong to the musician went viral. Fans flooded Facebook, X and WhatsApp with messages of shock and prayers amid fears that the celebrated musician might have been seriously injured.
However, Macheso’s manager and publicist, Tich Mahakamadze, moved quickly to calm the situation, confirming the accident but assuring fans that the musician is safe.
He said Macheso was not behind the wheel during the crash, adding that none of the passengers sustained any injuries.
