SUNGURA heavyweight, Alick Macheso, who marked his return by releasing his 10th project, Tsoka dzerwendo (Ayaya) on Monday will officially launch the album in Mutare tonight (Friday) at popular entertainment centre, The Platinum.The six-track album has received rave reviews across the country hardly a week after its release, with many music pundits arguing that it could be one of his best compositions ever since storming onto the music scene with his debut album, Magariro in 1998.
Tracks on the album include potential hits, a love song titled Mude Mude which encourages people to cherish their loved ones and adore each other unconditionally.
Goes part of the lyrics: “…….Mude mude, mude mude musikana wako, ukasamuda unoti anodiwa naniko, iwe uripo, chimoko chake…”
Macheso on Kurarama Inyasha pleads with listeners to value the special gift of life and give thanks and praise to God for protecting his people.
Goes part of the lyrics: “…Tinorarama nenyasha dzedenga, kurarama inyasha…avo neavo, uyo neuyo kurarama nenyaya dzashe…”
Other songs on the album are Gungwa, Munyaradzi, Baba and Wandirangaridza.
Macheso’s gig tonight is set to draw thousands of music lovers across the country as he will be unveiling all the new tracks live and would repeat some of the tracks upon request.
In an interview, Macheso paid tribute to promoters, among them Isau Mupfumi, for believing in him since releasing his last album Kwatabva mitunhu in 2012.
He said the new album would be on sale during the potentially explosive gig.
“Our album has received overwhelming response and we are humbled. It is a great feeling that our fans are welcoming our new project with zeal and confidence.
“We would like to thank them for their patience and tolerance. We are coming to Mutare knowing very well that fans will be expecting the best of us.
“We will belt all new songs and copies of the new album will be on sale. Our camp is ready for the gig and we urge people to come in numbers and enjoy our new compositions,” said Macheso speaking through his manager, Lucky Macheso.
