Machete brandishing gang robs man of cellphone

FOUR men allegedly chopped down a door to a hut with an axe and robbed the occupant of a cellphone in Lalapanzi in the Midlands.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the Incident which occurred on Unity Day.

He said in Funwell Maphosa (43) was asleep in his bedroom at Mandindi Stands Sino, Lalalpanzi at about 1AM.

“Four armed robbers forced his bedroom door open using an axe. They entered the bedroom, struck the complainant’s hand using a machete and demanded cash. They went on to ransack the room and took away his cellphone,” he said
