A machete-wielding man from Kadoma will spend the next 10 months in prison after assaulting another man over a grudge.
Tongai Mudimu (30) was arraigned before the Kadoma Magistrates’ Court facing assault charges.
He was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment of which two months were suspended for five years.
On August 5, 2024, Mudimu and his two accomplices who are still at large met the complainant at the Enfield Farm in Kadoma and teamed up to assault him.
They struck him several times on the head, leg and hand using a machete and spears.
The assault was a result of the previous grudges the accused had with the complainant.
The complainant sustained serious injuries due to the assault.
Meanwhile, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe has encouraged members of the public to desist from violence and resolve their disputes amicably or seek third-party mediation.
