MAD, MANIAC MAYOR…Furious response to ex-Mayor’s abuse of pregnant wife…H-Metro readers unite in condemning Tsverere’s actions

FORMER Chitungwiza mayor, Gift Tsverere, appears to have triggered the fury of many people with his questionable conduct.

His appearance at the Harare Civil Court last week has opened a can of worms for the Councillor.

His pregnant wife, Tsitsi Ndawana, was granted a protection order after having told the court he threatened to kill her and also destroy their household property.

She also described him as a drunkard, a violent man who was a promiscuous and abusive husband.

The story has captured the attention of our readers who are not happy with Tsverere’s behaviour.

They have even described him as a monster.

Below are some of our readers’ comments on Tsverere:

We don’t condone such behaviour. As we commemorate 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, we do not accept people who behave in such a manner. I hope he is brought to book for what he has done. How can he beat up a woman? People never learn. This should come to an end.   Chido Lass.

Zvakaoma chokwadi. For someone who is learned and is a lawyer, I cannot believe he has this kind of mentality. What is happening to these men? They should be given tough penalties so that they learn and urge others not to do the same. Susan Michine.

People have been talking about GBV a lot these past days. I am sure he knew what he was doing. Women are not punching bags. They are not animals or slaves. We have been talking about women empowerment, but this is the opposite. How would you feel if your daughter is beaten and abused by her husband? Food for thought. Sir Kane.

Zvinhu zvakadai zvinonyadzisa. I can imagine what the woman went through. This should come to an end. Tee One.

Those in positions of power are not leading by example these days. It’s almost the same with Chillspot co-producer, Levels, who leaked his sex tape. I don’t know what is happening. Tercia Muzz.

Our women should be our helpers and motivators, and they should be loved. I do not think guys are taught to be respectful, loving and caring husbands. Times have indeed changed. Rue Chitima.

Hunhu hwakadai haudi kumunhu mukuru. These guys should be our role models and should lead by example. Shame on him. Yvonne Manyonga.
