MADZIBABA Nicholas Zakaria and Baba Harare are set to headline the inaugural Musabvunda Fitness and Music Festival slated for the Reserve Bank Sports Club in Mabelreign on September 10 and 11.
The two-day fitness and music fête will see the two musicians being supported by male stripper Apama.
In an interview, event organiser, Kudzai Pasipanodya said it was all systems go.
“We are going to have artists who will perform at the event.
“We have Madzibaba Zakaria, Baba Harare, and Apama Style who will be backed by his dance group,” said Pasipanopdya.
“We expect it to be interesting as it is going to be graced by seasoned athletes.
“It is going to be big and it will be an annual event going forward.
“We want arts and sports to be combined.
“The concept behind Musabvunda is don’t be afraid and don’t be timid.
“People should believe in themselves so we expect it to be big.
“As an organisation, we are launching this in a bid to see many people participating in sport.
“We have seen previous events that only had marathons but we are coming up with an inclusive approach.
“We want this to be a top drawer event which is why we have lined up amazing performers to entertain our guests,” he said.
A number of top athletes have already also confirmed their availability.
Some of the major activities to look forward to are bench press, squat challenge and tug-of-war.
