The talented left-hand guitarist and singer who got onto the stage at around 10pm was at his usual best and gave a memorable and flawless show. The crowd was enthralled by his performance that demonstrated a high degree of expertise and maturity in the industry.
The music legend kept fans that had thronged the watering hole in droves on their feet with his dancers doing what they know best on stage. The choreography was not only exhilarating, but would have made even Alick Macheso’s dancers green with envy. The dancers left revellers asking for more and their nimble footedness on the dance floor was complemented by the “Senior Lecturer” himself who was playing his guitar with the composure of a genius much to the applause of the appreciative crowd.
Fans were left wondering why the humble but talented artiste is not rated among the top five musicians in the country yet his performance is second to none.
“We wonder why people, even the recording companies, ignore this man when they are rating musicians. He is one musician who has not changed his beat that made him a household name and I personally rate him the best in the country despite the media hype on Macheso, Chimbetus or Dehwa,” said Prosper Gamuchirai, a fan from Rujeko.
Ritz Regency Night Club entertainment manager Roy Gonese praised Madzibaba for a five-star performance and thanked fans for promoting them, as they came in numbers.
“I personally follow a different artiste, but I still rate Madzibaba as the best musician and talented guitarist.
He showed people today that he is the best. One thing I like most about this man is that he does not talk, but he lets his guitar do the talking. I also want to thank our customers for promoting us by attending this show in their huge numbers,” said Gonese.
Fans were wowed by songs that include, Munongedzo, Mabvi Namagokora, Ramangwana, Simbiso and Kunamata, to name but just a few.
The show, which ended just after dawn, was one of the memorable shows to be staged at the night club.
