Mafikizolo, Jah Prayzah clash at exclusive Christmas event

Arts Reporter

An exclusive musical and dinner Christmas event is scheduled for Thursday in Harare, where South African afro-pop band Mafikizolo and Jah Prayzah will headline the list of entertainers.

The show, dubbed “The Prestige Christmas Affair”, will see Feli Nandi, Ex Q and DJ Rimo joining Mafikizolo and Jah Prayzah at Newlands Country Club.

It is a show not to miss as it brings together the best of South Africa and the groups of the moment in Zimbabwe.

The award winning Mafikizolo needs no introduction in Zimbabwe where the group has frequented in recent past, to the extent of calling the country its second home.

And each time the group came it never disappointed, performing before full houses at different venues. The situation is expected to be the same this time around.

The locals will be led by Jah Prayzah, who is doing well since the recent launch of his album Chiremerera and has always been at his best when it comes to stage performance.

Feli Nandi is one of the best female voices on the local musical scene at the moment, while Ex Q is a veteran of urban-wise music followed by both the young and the old.

DJ Rimo is always at his best on the turntables.

Event spokesperson Napoleon Nyanhi said it was meant to provide entertainment and reward Zimbabwe’s A-Listers for their outstanding work in uplifting the local economy this year.  “The Prestige Christmas Affair is an evening of opulence and sophistication,” he said. “We have curated a magical night filled with enchanting performances by renowned artists, exquisite cuisine and an elegant crowd that exudes nothing, but class and style.

“This exclusive event is designed for the discerning elite, where only the crème de la crème will gather to celebrate the spirit of the season in grandeur. We would like to reward our A-Listers for their outstanding work in uplifting the Zimbabwean economy this year.”

Nyanhi urged people not to miss the event, which offers an “extraordinary opportunity to be part of an unforgettable evening that promises to dazzle and delight”.

“Reserve your place now and prepare to be captivated by an experience like no other,” he said. “As an individual you can purchase a VIP ticket for US$130, if you’d like to upgrade your experience to VVIP it will cost US$180. Corporate tables are available at US$1 500 sitting 10 guests.

“The ticket will entitle you to dinner, welcome drink, elegant environment and the best entertainment. Performing on stage will be Mafikizolo, Feli Nandi, Ex Q, DJ Rimo and Jah Prayzah.

“Elevate your Christmas celebration and join us for an extraordinary night of prestige and splendour.”

The event starts at 1800hrs, with guests expected to be dressed in African Elegance.
