ZVISHAVANE is set for a weekend of entertainment as Mafriq invades the mining town for a show at Hiltop nightclub tonight and another one at Down Town nightclub tomorrow. The group composed of Pauline Gundidza and Discord after another member Tunga T pulled out, made the headlines between 2005 and 2007 when they released a hit single, Ndizvo Chete, which became an anthem across the country. The song was accompanied by a great video. The hit song featured Roki who later married but divorced the group’s lead singer Pauline.

Mafriq made another hit, Chizeve Zeve, in 2006. They have done well on the urban groove music scene. Recently they released a single, Zambuko from their upcoming album.

“We are done with the recording.  We are doing final touches to the album. Zambuko is the most powerful song on the album so we might name the forthcoming album after the track,” Pauline said.

Zambuko breaks Mafriq’s four-year silence from the music scene as the group last released its last album Shungu Dzemoyo in 2009.
Down Town nightclub manager, Admire Morrison said the club was committed to bringing quality entertainment to the mining town.

“Fans should come in their numbers as Mafriq have promised to give them value for money. Zvishavane’s entertainment scene has been lacking such big shows and we are trying to address this anomaly,” he said.

Supporting acts will be DJ Touch and Kwasa who is a former Basement DJ in Bulawayo.
