Mthabisi Tshuma-Zimpapers Arts Hub

MASHONALAND East 2026 Chibuku Neshamwari provincial winners, Marondera Gure Art Group, have set their eyes on winning the coveted national title.

Also known as Magafa, the team won the ticket to represent the province after beating nine other groups.

Vimbiso Dance Troupe came second while Mbende Jerusarema Dance, from Murehwa Prison, emerged third.

Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub caught up with the group’s member, Mugove Musuka, who revealed how participating at the national finals will be a dream come true.

“The journey has not been easy in this competition since 2023 where we managed to get position three and in the year, 2024 and 2025, we did not manage to get any position.

“This gave us a push continue to practice extra hard for position one,” said Musuka.

He said when they were announced as the winners, it was a golden moment for every member of the group.

“Other members cried, the founder of the group, Mugove Musuka, has been our lighting torch as he continues to lead us.

“The vision is to promote our culture in the community, our mission is to become the best cultural group in Mash East.

“Our target at the nationals is to fly the flag of gule wamkulu high and winning the competition,” said Musuka.
